Internal Medicine Specialist Tabriz

Internal medicine means seeing how the body’s systems affect one another. From the first conversation and tests to follow-up over the years, we stay with you.

About the doctor

We listen first, then assess, and stay with you throughout.

Dr. Elnaz Afrouzeh is an internal medicine specialist in Tabriz. Diabetes, high blood pressure, thyroid disease, fatty liver and digestive problems stay with a patient for years, so test results and the treatment plan need to be clear. The aim is that you know why you are having tests, why follow-up matters and what the next step is.

The care journey

From the first conversation to long-term follow-up

Five steps, one after another. Each one has a reason, and the plan changes with the results of follow-up.

  1. Step 1 of 5.

    Listening and examination

The visit starts with a conversation: your symptoms, medical history, current medicines and earlier test results. Then comes the examination.

  2. Step 2 of 5.

    Tests and imaging

If needed, blood tests or imaging are requested to give a clearer picture of what is going on. The reason for each one is explained to you.

  3. Step 3 of 5.

    Diagnosis and treatment plan

The results are put side by side. The diagnosis and the suggested plan are explained in plain language, and decisions are made together.

  4. Step 4 of 5.

    Adjusting treatment

The plan is not fixed: it changes with your test results and how you feel. Change a medicine only with your doctor.

  5. Step 5 of 5.

    Long-term follow-up

Internal medicine conditions are often chronic, and follow-up goes on for years. Regular tests and visits help show how the condition is moving and keep the plan up to date.

Frequently asked questions

Simple answers to the first questions.

What should I bring to the first visit?

Your latest test results and ultrasound reports, a list of every medicine you take (bring the boxes or the prescription too), your history of illnesses and surgery, your insurance booklet and ID. If something is missing, come anyway; the support team can help you get it.

Do I need to fast for a blood test?

It depends on the test. Some, such as blood sugar and blood fats, are usually taken fasting and others are not. The laboratory or the doctor's instructions will say. Do not set your medicines aside without asking the doctor.

My test result is abnormal. Should I worry?

One number outside the range is not always a sign of disease. Age, medicines, how you were that day and the lab method all play a part. A result has to be read together with your symptoms and history, so bring it to the visit.

Will I have to take pills for the rest of my life?

It depends on the condition and your situation. Some conditions, such as diabetes or high blood pressure, usually need long-term treatment, and treatment changes as things change. Every decision about a medicine is for the doctor; do not stop it or change the amount yourself.

How often do I need follow-up?

The doctor sets the interval based on your condition and results, and it can change. The support team can remind you when periodic tests are due.

Which symptoms are an emergency?

Chest pain, sudden shortness of breath, weakness or a drooping face, very low or very high blood sugar with severe drowsiness, and vomiting blood or passing blood or black stools. In these cases do not wait for an appointment; call 115 or go to the nearest emergency department.

Do you work with insurance?

The list of insurers will be announced soon.

These answers are general and do not replace your doctor's advice for your situation.
